Natural Gathering Grounds provides a magical wedding day experience in quiet, peaceful, and natural surroundings. No matter if you are planning a casual evening or an elegant celebration, our land is a wonderful location to create memories and embrace the beauty of the outdoors.

Our Wedding Care Team has hosted many weddings and will provide all the support and recommendations necessary to ensure a smooth and perfect wedding day in nature.

A wedding at Natural Gathering Grounds includes a choice of two ceremony sites, multiple accommodations, amazing land views, magnificent sunsets, bohemian style tents and rustic arbors, a large 4,000 square foot covered pavilion, and a bungalow house for the groom’s “getting ready” spot.

The Farmhouse Lodge’s wide wrap-around covered porch provides a welcoming outdoor space as well as a magical view for the bride to get ready and watch as guests gather and arrive under the trees.

Additionally, our unique bathhouse provides men and women’s restrooms onsite with toilets and showers.

Farmhouse Wedding Package - $4,000

For weddings with up to 100 guests. Enjoy a full-service experience, with our Wedding Care Team as your host and attending to the set up and take down of items provided by the Grounds. Includes a two-night stay at the Farmhouse Lodge for up to 12 people.

Farmhouse Lodge Details

  • Three bedrooms with beds and linens for 12 - two queen beds, one full bed, four twin beds, and one queen trundle.

  • Two full baths with linens

Should you wish to book additional lodging units, that can be added to your wedding package. Additional Farmhouse nights can be added for $250 per night.

For weddings with up to 70 guests. A self-service rental of the grounds for the do-it-yourself wedding. Includes access to the Farmhouse Lodge from 9am - 11pm.

Ceremony Only Package - $500 - $1,000

For weddings with up to 50 guests. The perfect option for those who want a ceremony in nature. Includes 3-hour access to the property, bathhouse, trails, fields, and beach.

Micro Wedding Package - $3,300

For weddings with up to 25 guests. The perfect option for those seeking an intimate wedding with a full-service experience. Enjoy the perks of an all-inclusive wedding package, scaled to the small size you desire. $40 per additional guest. Micro weddings must be booked with payment made in full.

The Ceremony & Reception

Ceremonies can be held outdoors underneath a beautiful arbor built by our owner for his own wedding. We have selected two areas that make for the perfect ceremony site, but you’re welcome to select another area that better suits you.

Our private dock and beach on the Edisto River serves as the perfect spot for your cocktail hour or as additional space for your weekend.

Receptions can be held in our Farmhouse Lodge, our large 4,000 square foot barn, or our acres of fields. We recommend renting a double peak, high top tension tent with beautiful lighting and a dance floor for a bohemian, fairy-inspired look.

Guests who want to explore can enjoy the unique land and farm features such as large fire pits, acres of trails, ponds to fish, hammocks, private beach and dock on the Edisto River, as well as a various picnic areas.

Our Wedding Care Team is very experienced in hosting weddings on our land. We know planning a wedding is stressful, so let our knowledge of the land guide you through your wedding day design. We will walk you through all the options for locations based on your vision, as well as recommend vendors that are familiar with our land. Choose from several all-inclusive rental packages and enjoy the option to bring in your own outside vendors to personalize your event.


Farmhouse Lodge

Our modern Farmhouse Lodge is the home base for your wedding party. Enjoy multiple areas to socialize, with temperature-controlled indoor spaces and wrap around outdoor porches. Access to the Farmhouse Lodge is not included in the Ceremony Only Package. All wedding packages include onsite parking and access to our Bathhouse with toilets and showers.

The Fine Print

Here at NGG, we have tried to make our terms of business as straight forward as possible. We’ve outlined details and FAQ below, but if you have a question that’s not answered below, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Booking

When booking a date at NGG for your wedding, we can only confirm bookings one year in advance. Provisional dates can be accepted prior to this. Bookings should be confirmed within two weeks of the 12 months prior to the ceremony. For provisional bookings less than one year in advance, bookings will only be held for a maximum of 2 weeks, then released. All bookings must be submitted on our official booking form, and a deposit is required to secure a selected date.

Accessibility

Our Lodge Farmhouse’s downstairs toilets and our Pond House toilets are wheelchair accessible.

Confetti

Confetti is not allowed anywhere on site. Dried rose petals or dried flowers may be used instead.

Candles and Tea Lights

If you wish to use candles to decorate the barn, please discuss this prior to the event with the Event Manager, as some candles may not be permitted.

Parking

Cars are parked in the main car park unless otherwise directed. The bridal car may pull up to the front of the lodge for the bride/couple to alight and then it must use the car park. Cars that are left overnight are left at the owners risk—we do not provide security. All cars must be removed by 12:00 PM (Noon) the following day.

Alcohol

Guests are not permitted to supply their own alcohol unless otherwise agreed and noted in the contract. We do not charge corkage fees on champagne and wine at the reception meal. All drinks must be bought from the supplied caterer. NGG does not hold a license for alcohol so one must be obtained in advance by those providing the bar.

Noise Ordinance

Music should be kept to a reasonable level and reduced if requested by NGG staff. Entertainment, music, etc must end by 11.30 pm. Extensions of time are possible and must be agreed and noted on the contract.

Health & Safety

All electrical equipment brought on to the venue must have a current PAT test certificate or stamp. All setting up at high level must be carried and supervised by the contractors and NGG holds no responsibility over those procedures. However, NGG does retain the right to suspend or stop any works being carried out if deemed dangerous to personnel or facilities.

Power

The venue is powered by the lodge and barn so any suppliers with heavy draw electrical equipment must advise NGG in advance.

Catering

NGG does not provide catering but is happy to recommend preferred caterers. Please note that any caterers contracted by the booking party must be noted on the booking contract. NGG is not responsible for the clearing away of any catering items left in any of the rooms. All catering suppliers must provide copies of insurance and food and hygiene certificates to NGG prior to the event.

If the catering company needs to use kitchen facilities, a fee of $250 will be charged for the use of the Lodge Farmhouse’s kitchen. Additionally, a refundable deposit of $250 will be required to cover any damages that may occur. This fee will be returned on successful inspection of the kitchen area. Any remaining food must be disposed of the same day and taken away by the caterers. Any equipment must be collected the following day before 12:00 PM (Noon). NGG will not be held responsible for the security of any equipment whilst on site.

It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to ensure the caterers are aware of these rules and adhere to them. Failure to do so will incur a charge.

Kitchen

For health and safety, the Lodge Farmhouse is out of bounds to any guests when being used by the caterers.

Access to Venue

Access is provided from 6:00PM on the day prior to the reception for you to decorate and set up. Please use existing fixings and do not knock anything into the walls. Any materials use to enhance the venue to be removed by 12:00PM (Noon) the following day.

Photography

If the photographer requires a site visit before the wedding an appointment must be made with grounds manager.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside NGG Lodge. There are areas outside with appropriate butt bins.

Fireworks

Fireworks must be noted on the contract.

Safety

The venue staff on duty at the event are representatives of the license holder and are empowered to suspend an event if license or health and safety guidelines are being ignored.

Responsible Person

NGG requests the contact information for a responsible person that ca be contacted for any questions or problems that may occur on the day (not the bride or groom).

FAQ

What happens if I cancel?

Sadly, cancellations cost us money in lost revenue from holding your event date. If you cancel 12-6 months prior to the event, you will owe 50% of the total booking value. If you cancel less than 6 months prior to the event, you will owe 100% of the total booking value.

In the unlikely event that NGG has to cancel your booking, you will be refunded all your advance payments, although NGG will not have any other liability. NGG will only cancel if:
- any of the venue is closed or unavailable due to events beyond our control
- if you, or we, become insolvent, or in the case of bankruptcy petition
- the persons associated with the booking and/or the purpose of the meeting might damage the reputation of NGG.

Can I change my guest numbers?

Of course you can, provided your total guests do not exceed the maximum capacity for what the land can handle. If numbers are considerably reduced, NGG reserves the right to move your party to any room at the venue more suitable.

General Disclaimers

  • We are concerned with your health and safety, and that of our staff.

  • NGG cannot be held responsible for damage or loss of another parties property, however caused.

  • Organizers will be liable for the cost of repairs carried out as a result of any damage caused to any part of the venue by negligence, willful act/default of any person invited to the venue by you or your suppliers.

  • Should you fail to correct any aspect of poor or unacceptable behavior, you may be asked to leave the premises. Should this happen, no monies will be refunded to you.

  • NGG reserves the right at all times under all circumstances to refuse admittance or service to any person or persons considered undesirable.
